December '98 - Fritz Schober's 240 liter Community Tank.
December's beautiful aquarium belongs to german hobbyist Fritz Schober. This superbly aquascaped Community Tank is only 2 months old. It has 240 liters (120x40x50), is filtered by an Eheim Professional 2224, and lighted by two 38 Watt fluorescent bulbs (1 warm-light in the back, 1 Triton blue/white-light in the front). There's a wide variety of plants here: 4 Echinodorus martii, 4 Vallisneria spiralis var. spiralis, 1 Bacopa caroliniana, 3 Anubias barteri var. nana, 5 Vallisneria tortifolia, 2 Hygrophila difformis, 1 Cryptocorine beckettii, 1 Eleocharis parvula, 3 Lilaeopsis brasiliensis, 1 Echinodorus tenellus, 1 Echinodorus barthii and 1 Althernanthera reineckii "lilablättrig". Fish population consists of 6 young Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare), 2 Butterfly Dwarf Cichlids (Microgeophagus ramirezi), 10 Corydoras parallelus and 5 young Algae Eaters (Crossocheilus siamensis). Fritz feeds them twice a day with freeze-dried red and white mosquito larvae, freeze-dried Artemia, dry food from Sera/Tetra/Dupla, and JBL as flakes and tabs. He changes about 5% of the water every 3 days.
