Ngee´s 250 Liter
Nature Aquarium
(Singapore)

Dimensions: 90x50x55 cm, 250 L (nominal).

Filtration: Atman external filter with coal, wool, terra cotta.

Lighting: 6x30 W fluorescent.

Flora: Glossostigma elatinoides, Riccia fluitans, Vallisneria americana, Giant Bacopa, Bacopa sp.

Fauna: Cardinal Tetras x20, Panda Corydoras x3, Corydoras napoensis x3, Siamese Algae Eater x5, Otocinclus sp. x5, Yamato shrimp x2, Malaysian grass shrimp x20, Phantom Tetra x5, Hemigrammus marginatus x2, Chinese sucker fish x2.

Maintenance: Water change 1/3 of the tank weekly. Not much scraping of the front glass is needed as the sucker fish and some ramhorn snails will do the job. 2 tablets of iron supplement is added after water change.

Comments: Every morning, around 8:00 AM I turn on the light. I leave them for 6 hours, then I switch 3 off and leave the other 3 for another 3 hours. CO2 is supplied at 1 bubble per 5 seconds. Fertilizers are not added to the soil, however I used natural garden soil as the base of the substrate layer before covering it with 7 cm of fine sand. Laterite balls are added near tall plants. I do not feed the fish daily and so far none of the fish died from hunger. I am from Singapore and the fish tank temperature is always around 24-28°C.
