My brother had a Clown Loach that jumped from the tank. By the time the poor thing was found it was completely covered in dog and cat fur, and whatever else had been under the fish stand. It looked pretty bad, but my brother put him in some water from the tank and he started swimming. The "surgery" began at this point. He kept putting him in the water for a minute, would then take him out and pull some of the hair off with tweezers and put him back in the water again for a breather. It must have taken him an hour to get all the hair off that poor fish. The fish amazingly survived and he had him for a long time after.
