Hagen - Sun-Glo Fluorescent Aquarium Lamps
I have a 40 liter tank and I bought a Sun-Glo 18" 15 watt lamp. I find it very bright and gives off a very yellowish colour to everything in the tank. I have Ttetra's and the light seems to scare them into hiding, but over all it's an OK light.
A cracking little tube. I currently have one of these in my 10 gallon Tropiquarium 55. It gives a very vibrant and powerful light and brings the best colours from your fish. I recommend this tube to anyone who is looking for the nearest thing to sunlight. I also have an Aqua-Glo tube which I rate below average compared with the Sun-Glo.
I just recently purchased the small 8 W for my 40 liter hexagon which is heavily planted. I had a very hard time finding a bulb for this size for my tank. It does give a yellowish color to the tank. My main concern was if it will contribute to my plant growth. Otherwise I have no complaints about this product.
I bought one recently and did not care for it. The light seemed harsh to my eyes and did not show my fish off to their best advantage as it is very yellowish. I prefer the Aqua-Glo or lights that appear more white or pinkish light. I disliked the effect so much I returned the bulb.
I have a single 30 Watt Sun-glo tube over a 120 cm tank with bogwood, Java ferns and Nicaraguan cichlids. The tube gives a yellow light very similar to a domestic lighting tube. The colours of the fish are washed out and very unremarkable. A little daylight that falls on the tank a couple of hours per day makes a vast improvement to the tanks appearance. I'd suggest if you consider buying this tube you would need a specialist red/blue type to go with it as a pair, the Aqua-glo for example. Definitely not a tube for single fitment.
