Hagen - Plant Gro Aquarium Fertilizers
My tank is only 2 months old and I bought Plant Gro Fertilizers, only on the recommendation of the owner of the Pet Store where I buy all my fish. I have a 28 gallon tank, planted quite densely. I added the plants one or two at a time and now I would describe it as being medium to densely planted. All my plants seem to be doing very well, especially 2 Banana Lilies which have doubled in size in about a month and a half. The Flora Care Co. suggests 1 capful per 10 gallons, which I did for the first two weeks, but have reduced the dosage by half and my plants are all doing great. I take cuttings from the taller plants and replant them every 2-3 weeks. I haven't tried other plant foods, and will most likely stick with this product...it works!
My tank, a 180 L, is only two months old but I had a 280 L before that I had to leave at my other house (*sigh*). I planted in the 180 L tank 4 Amazon Swordplants (Echinodorus paniculatus) and 4 Italian Val (Vallisneria torta). I use the PlantGro and the Amazons are doing great, lots of shoots that I have already replanted. I am planning to add a 380 L tank next month and the way things are looking I might just put some of my baby Amazon's from this tank in to the new big one (smile) so far PlantGro is doing great once a week. However, I keep and eye on the Iron (Fe) level not to drop so that my plants are happy.
