Hi, I'm just curious about the possibility of keeping one small seahorse in a 2 gallon hex tank with filtration and heater with some coral.

I currently have a 29 gallon freshwater and am just wondering about saltwater. Any advice is appreciated.

To start, with no previous salt experince I wouldn't recommend it.

Most sea horses are wild caught and are hard to get to eat. Making them difficult to keep alive. Recenetly there is a company, out of Ireland IIRC, that has been able to start raising captive ones.

I don't belive that 2 gallons would be big enough anyway.

I wouldnt reccomend a 2 gallon salt for a beginner. That is a very small tank and a lot harder to keep then a big tank. A bigger tank allows for errors where a real small tank like that does not.

I think I'll just get rid of the 2 gallon. I have my betta in a bowl now and he sits on the anacharis at the top of the bowl. I have had no success with the 2 gallon.

How big is your beta bowl? If its smaller I would move the beta to the 2 gallon. Its actually better to have at least a gallon or more for a beta then the little bowls.
