I have an Eclipse 12gal tank and I like it a lot.The cleaning of the filter is easy and having everything in the lid good. The bio-sysrem keeps a current going that a lot of fish like. The only drawback I have to the overhead bio-wheel is when I feed. The water flow on top tend to force food down.I get a lot of food going to the bottom so get about 3 bottom feeders so they will have a delight.I suggest small corys like pygmys or ones that only get about 2 inches.Overall I rate the tank about an 8.If this is your first tank it is a good one for a beginner. This was my first tank.Good Luck.

I don't have an Eclipse 12, but I do like my 3. It is a nice tank. As far as if 12gallons is big enough for a mantis. No idea, I've never kept them or looked into it.
