|

what I'm trying to find for my tank is a medium sized fish, that will be happy by himself(like only one of his kind), and will not terrorize my tetras. SInce my guppy will eventually be going to my cousin I'm not to worried about her, Because my cousin will just feed her to his oscar...
so any fish that come to mind would be good in my tank? thanks |

As they are bottom dwellers have you thought about 2 nice Albino Corys?
I know that people say keep them in more as they like to school but I have 2 in my 20 gall wall tank and they are fine and play up and down the tank entwinging themselves in each other and are one of the mose peaceful fish you can get ! _________________ Kideafish

I'm not sure about all shops but in mine, they sell Betta tanks (good size) for about 20 pounds, and the fish themselves for about 4:50, I don't know why this is any help to you, but its a normal price (I think), but then you have to buy a light/heater thingy and foilage and food and special stuff! |

thanks..in the wal-mart here there are nice glass bowls..atleast 5g if not more, I have a lamp, and can get some small plant(s) if and when I get a beta the bowls are about $5 and the fish-usually males, I don't know why there arent many/any females in the stores-are anywhere from $5 to $8
but then I would probably prefer to go to london(ontario ) because there betas are in much better shape |

Your right there are not many females coming in to our country either . People are screaming out for them from myselkf but I keep a lot for breeding as like to rest my females for quite a while after she has spawned
Great choice with the Albino Cories. Mine are growing quite big and fattish. They are lovely and one of my favorite fish now.
Good idea with the Betta , no less than a 5 gal is my personal choice with at least a heater and near a source of daylight.
Good Luck _________________ Kideafish

they probably don't want you to have females as 1. they wouldn't want you making your own and 2. you they're no as impressive (visually) as males and as you can't keep them in the same tank, unless to breed, then theres no point ... in their eyes maybe. |

I still need to check if petsmart sells females.. I was going to put a beta(female) in my tank cause I wasnt too sure about any other fish
about the albino cories...the more active they are the better the conditions in the tank..right? I read that in another post somewhere on this site if so mine must be excellent lol, they havent stopped zooming around since I got them on Sunday! they are getting along fine with my other fish...although my neons don't know what to think of all the action
thanks again for the help
