I need help! I have a large pond in my yard. It started out with 3 catfish(maybe the walking type). Now there are so many I can't count them.
I need to get some of them out of there. They're eating all the food I give to my fish. Koi's,Oscars, Comets, and a Turtle.
They are extremely aggressive, not to mention gross.....
I was thinking of getting a crayfish trap, and trying it with a can of cat food inside.
Does ANYONE have any suggestions?

Rod and reel would probably work. I'd imagine a minnow bait trap would also work too. A seine would probably be a last resort.

Of course you could always use a speargun... Wink

how big is this pond? the sein idea actually sounds good, if its a good size pond. I just seined a farm pond of mine for population control and if your problem is the way it sounds you may save your self some aggrivation to go ahead get out as many as you can. just my two cents.

Well, if your pond isn't too big or dirty, you can actually net them out. But if you have one of those ponds you would see at a park, you're probably not going to get them out anytime soon. Sounds fun to go fishing in your own yard though Laughing
OO by the way, what kind of catfish? I was looking for a good species of catfish for my pond that can tolerate temperatures from 50 - 80 degrees.
