Recently I own three red bellies piranhas, 2 about 4 inches long and 1 a little smaller maybe 3 inches. To my surprise recently the two larger ones ate the smaller one consuming everything but its head. I had all three intruduced to the tank at the same time, anybody could tell me what could have trigger this action?.

Is it wise to introduce another piranha of the same size to the tank? to make it three again.

Dio, could you let us know about your tank size and feeding schedule? Thanks.

we had originally gotten 3. they were on bloodworms, fed daily or twice daily, and then about a week later the two bigger ones ate the smaller one. as if that wasn't enough, the smaller one (formerly the medium-sized one), ate the bigger one.
shortly after that, we decided to start the lone survivor on goldfish/rosies and he's been doing well. some people tell me that it's surprising that he survived, being alone, but he seems to enjoy it.
