Does anyone know of what plants are native to this region? Latin names would be preferred (I know, picky picky). A list would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

There are few plants found in the main rivers (Orinoco, Amazon, Negro etc) due to the turbulent, strong flow but more are found in calmer waters such as oxbow lakes or in the blackwater tributaries feeding the rivers.

As far as I know all of these plants can be found either in the Orinoco or in its tributaries (Although don't quote me on that! Wink )

Echinodorus amazonicus
Echinodorus bleheri
Echinodorus parviflorus
Echinodorus tenellus
Heteranthera zosterifolia
