I went to the store and thought it would be nice to get ghost shrimp so I got 12. When I put them in the tank they were fine but when I went out for a while and came back THEY WERE GONE!...from tweleve to narely four, and for some reason the angelfish and bolivian rams were fat and had antenna's sticking out of their mouths. Sad thing is I had 3 large pregnant ones and they were the first to get eaten, I thought they would at least stand a chance but I guess not. The others eventually got eaten the next day. I didn't think my fish could be so vicious.

So right now I'm really upset with what happened because I really want shrimp in the tank...is there any other shrimp species or crawfish I could get for my setup??? Maybe even a snail...I just want something facinating in the tank, thats out of the ordinary.

My setup:
55 Gallon planted tank
4 Mid size angels
3 bolivian rams
1 platy
9 neon tetras
??? 4 Panda Cory's ??? (saw them @ the store, I'm pretty sure I will buy them.)

any shrimp you put in that tank will need to be bigger than the fishes' mouths... or else they'll keep eating them.

Additionally, any shrimp that gets bigger than their mouth will probably be large and "mean" enough to endanger your fish.

Between the combination of neons, corries, and shrimp eaters you choices are limited. You may want to look at getting 1 or 2 large snails. Such as Vivaparus or Apple Snails.

Odd I have 3 angel fish, 3 emerald cory cat fish, 1 striped raphael, 6 phantom tetra, 2 black mollys, and 5 neon tetra in my 55 g tank and the angels don't bother the baby ghost shrimp at all I've had my shrimp climb on the angel and it swim around not noticing its quite cute.
