Does anyone have any tips to keeping a tank that looks natural? What sort of plants do you use?

If you are going for a biotope tank, then I would recommend investigating the region you are trying to duplicate. Some regions have very little plant growth (if any at all) or composed or rocks or leaf litter.

If you are going fo a visually natural look, I would investigate teh regions as a whole. I have a natural looking angel tank that contains swords (4 varieties), sag, anubias (3 varieties), java fern (3 varieties), tiger lotus and hydrocotyle - as well as lots of driftwood. All of these plants are not from teh same area but can represent a plant that is located where my fis originated. BTW, my theme on this tank is South American Creek.

Sounds like a nice setup. I haven't really got a theme at the moment. I'll try and post a picture in this topic later. Thanks for the advice. Smile
