A week ago I Started cycling my 65g tank with 2 Tiger Barbs. I used a 330 Penquin Bio- Wheel with WHITE DIAMOND Ammonia-Neutralizing Crystals as filtration media. I then decided after a week to check my ammonia levels. They tested at zero. I am now wonder if I made the mistake in the filtration media I picked seeing as how I need ammonia to start the cycling process of the tank.

By neutrilizing the ammonia, your making it unusable by the bacteria. Prolonging your cycling period. I would remove it and use water changes to keep the levels down as to not kill your fish. This will also extend the time it will take to mature, but not as much and will save your fish.
