I am moving in a few weeks. However, I'm staying in the same building just going 2 floors down. I would like to move my tank with as little disruption to the set up as possible as my plants are becoming well-established. The good news is that I do not yet have fish--so no worries there. The tank is an Eclipse 15G (acrylic) with approx. 2 inches of small gravel, a medium piece of driftwood, and 6 small rocks.

I'm hoping that I can simply drain the water and then carry it (with help, of course Smile ), but I'm concerned that it will be too heavy and will break. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

If you drain it completly there shouldn't be a problem leaving the plants and gravel in there. Assuming that you take it down 2 floors, put it in place and start filling it.
But you have to be quick about it. The plants woun't have a problem surviving a limited time in the air as long as the gravel stays moist.

Also try and make sure you don't put any "twist" on the tank...the best thing is carrying it on a wood board.

Get 2 5 gallon buckets. Fill 1 and use the other to empty the tank down to gravel level. Move carefully.
