I have a 2 gallon hex tank that's in the process of cycling right now and I just tried to change the water only to experience detrius going everywhere. so I tried to vaccum the gravel with a 1/2" tube, but it sucked the water out too fast without cleaning up much. it wouldn't be a problem to just use a gravel vac, but the tank is planted and there isn't a lot of room for my other big vac. it's got a UGF too if that does anything.

how do you all clean gravel in your tiny(planted) tanks?

Hi A_E!

This was discussed before in the planted tanks forum - some ideas and experience in that topic. You should find it here: http://www.aquahobby.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=4237

Cheers!

thanks! the one time I don't search before posting...

I guess I'm basically stuck not vac-ing then... oh well, hopefully my shrimp and plants take care of the bad stuff, and water changes keep things stable.
