I wish someone would do a review of this canister and post it in the Products section!

The Eheim Pro reviews would apply to the Via Aqua canisters. They're clones. Outside of a few minor differences, they're the same filters. Apparently the company that makes the filters for Eheim is also making 2 other "brand" lines on top Via Aqua. They're all pretty new, so reliability hasn't been determined yet, I have both an VA and one of the other brands and they're both pumping along with no problem. They're super quiet too.

Is the Via Aqua as sturdy as the Eheim? I almost ordered one online and the lady taking the orders "seriously" suggested that I get something else.... I don't know why, maybe the lack of media has gotten them some complaints or they have had some returns. It confused me as I've heard pretty good things so far.

So far it's been stand up solid. I can't say what would determine sturdiness though. The canister is heavy transparent plastic like most canisters and the motor housing looks well made and has a good weight to it and since it's totally silent during operation I can only assume the motor is good as well. My only complaint applies to the Eheim and all the clones is the intake/output tubes are kind of cheap, like gravel vacuum quality cheap.
