I have a pair of convicts which have just bred (and killed two oscars doing so) and I have noticed a white growth at the base of my males pectral fins
I don't think its white spot (still not sure) and it doesn't seem to bother him as yet. Confused

White spot would look like grains of salt or sugar sprinkled over the fish. If it looks like a white growth it could be a fungus or an injury. Look through the illustrated guide to diseases and see if you see what your fish has. And post more details about your tank: all occupants, tank size, test results, feeding schedule, water change schedule, temp of tank, etc. The more info you give, the better.
