I know this is kind of a silly question, because all fish are different in their own personal way, as they are all individuals. But what larger, main focus, kind of fish would be suitable with the beautiful Guppy's, that often go through the horror of getting their tails nipped at?

Another question, would Cory's nip at the guppy's ? The cory's would not be my main fish, but would also like to keep a few of these.

Thanks.

How big is the tank? What else do you want to keep with the guppies and the corries? Will the guppies be dithering fish?

I'm seeing 3 general setups:

1) Guppies are for color, larger fish are plain for contrast.

2) Big fish is the star with size and color

3) A school of other fish leaving the guppies not looking all that small and still pretty colourful.

I had some male dwarf gourami with my fancy guppies and they did fine together. They are big enough to be a "centerpiece" fish but they don't get huge like some gourami.

I had the same question as you, and after much looking at the gallery, and reading the helpful stuff there, we're going for a pair of Bolivian Rams (http://www.aquahobby.com/gallery/galtisp.html) as our 'larger' fish. I know 10 cm full size isn't huge, but it's all relative to your tank, isn't it...

Cheers!
