I knew 40% was wrong after I voted, but you can't change your vote. If you want to figure it by days in the month it's usually 4.33 (if I remember that right). See what happens when you're too lazy to actually write things down. Rolling Eyes

Yeah, and after all of my math, I ended up punching in the wrong vote. I used a spreadsheet to check my math, and the way I set them up was a column of what you're taking out, and then a column of what's in the tank. I actually voted for the 35% because that number was approaching 40...but I had looked at the column which was how much nitrate are you taking out instead of how much is in the tank. As soon as I hit the vote I realized my mistake and knew it was 25%, but you can't change your vote.

Blast it all...doing the math right and being outsmarted by the html buttons!

Noname, are you alright? Any particular reason why you added that little comment to a topic that's almost 1 year old? Wink

A great addition to a maths poll thread! After discussion about whether 25%, 30% or 20% of water being changed, and 25% being considered correct and none of the others, Professor Avila, who sets these devilish problems, declares that 65% of a year is 'nearly a year'. Shocked We should all expect well over 30% leeway in any answers we submit for marking from here on in! Laughing Wink

Meanwhile, I've just started reading this book and so might feel confident to actually post a sensible reply next time!

Cheers!
