With a 30 gall go with maby 3 or 4 small fish. All 3 species are compatable together. I would say pick 2 of the species and get pairs or a pair and a single, or 1 of each. What I meant was clowns stick with the same type 2 false percs, or 2 true percs for example. Same for the firefish stick with reds or purples but not both.

cool. thats how I took it. I was going to go 2 Clowns (true Perculas) and 2 Red (Orange) Firefish and then stock up with Pistol Shrimp and other cleaners to add a sense of harmony to the tank....and just to let you know, I'm in month 2 of the 6 month planning process (can't afford to do all this until early 2004!!!!) so all this help is greatly recieved and any thoughts are well researched by myslef Smile thanks guys & gals.

I would get the cleanup crew but I would advise against stocking up on pistol shrimp. maby one but they can get aggresive twds each other and sometimes small fish. but if you do deciede on a pistol shrimp theres an idea for you there are shimp and goby combos. certain species of gobides actually live and share there burrows with certain pistol shrimps
