Hi Type-R

Tested Nitrate this morning - it is 5-10 ppm. This is higher than it was a week ago, when it was scraping to the 5ppm colour of the chart.

This sounds like good news to me, since a gradually increasing Nitrate against a backdrop of no ammonia or nitrite indicates a coping bacterial population?

Perhaps the best option (for the fish) is to wait and see for another fortnight.

Cheers!

Kunnagh

Sound pretty good to me,
I feel you could add some more stock to the tank, say just 6 or so small fish like neons or a couple of larger fish like platies. I think it would be perfectly fine to do this now, just keep monitoring your levels and doing your water changes and I'm sure it will be fine Very Happy

Thanks again, T-R.

We've added a single male guppy for now, as my wife insists it's not fair on the females not to, well, you know... since we have both sexes of Danios. Embarassed

Since Guppies are tiny poo-machines, he's probably bio-equivalent to about 4 neons (he's a big lad, and has been christened 'Chunky'), so we'll watch for a little while more then go for it (gradually!)

Thanks again

Cheers!
