I bought a 30 gal with an eclipse hood three weeks ago and have been trying to figure out how best to ensure the healthy growth of the java fern, moss, bolbitis, and rubin sword I've planted in it. I don't need them to be crawling out of the tank in a week, but the two 15 watt bulbs (triton and life-glo) I have in there don't seem to be cutting it (its a tall tank too). I've seen pictures of someone's setup that included an additional bulb with its own transformer, ballast etc.., but no other information. I've also read about retrofit kits like smartlite, but all that seems to do is replace the two 15s with a single 32watt (there could be more to it, I don't know).

How do I go about adding more light to this setup, and, when I do, how much? furthermore, is adding more light going to increase the need for co2 (considering I have a bio wheel which, from what I've read here, already may reduce concentrations) because I'm not sure if I want to mess with injecting. I have flourite mixed with gravel for substrate, and add freshwater supplement by kent.
