I have an outdoor fountain which can hold at the most 5 gal. I was wondering what would I be able to keep here???? I thought about betta's, but they need high temperatures and I will not be able to but anything inhere except maybe hiding a spongefilterbehind a rock or something. I live in southern CA in the LA county, so it is usually hot during the summer. However, I live in the Anetelope Valley and it has some of the weirdest weather here. It can be 100 degrees one day and raining the next. So I need something that will be able to handle temperature flluctuations. Is there anything that would work???? If not it's OK.

read the post above titled "Aquarium fish as pond fish", also I have a book that says mosquito fish should be suitable for you although they reproduce a lot.

I don't think any fish would be able to take such temp swings.

Move it to a shaded place.

He never said anything about temp swings, he just said that it could be 100degrees, and then the next day in can rain, but doesn't that happen any where?
