id go for 300gal at least. That way you'll have room for more inhabitants if you wish. (btw I don't know much about ponds so don't just rely on my information!).

from what I know and seen, in the uk the only other fish that can live in a UK pond are goldfish(not fancy types) and orfes. Now I have no idea about keeping orfes so I can't tell you anything.

I imagine that buying a pre-formed pond is a lot easier than using liner.try looking at this site:
http://www.oasis-water-gardens.com/pond%20header.html

whenever I go to a fish shop they always have these so you'll have no problems with availability. the Pacific (310gal), Koi Bio-edge(316 gal) are both in your size range.

From what iv seen by surfing the net, there are a lot of pond filtartion systems available such as vortexes and nitrate towers. To run a pond filter, you need a pump (like a powerhead for aquariums). For the actual filtration you could go for :
Hozelock Bioforce 4500 -

Try www.aquatics-online.co.uk for filters.
Your local garden centre will probably the cheapest place for pond liners. We built our ponds ourselves. Its easier than you'd think.
