We have a 1/2 acre pond that we stock with bluegill, bass, and catfish. The kids have caught a few bluegills, ( although they aren't suppose to) and brought them in to show us their colors. They are almost ghostly white instead of a darker green. They have been fed pellets so far this year and they eat whatever has naturally fallen into the water. We had a reasonable winter and the water flow is normal. The water at the moment is a muddy color ( normal for this time of year ), and the plants around it are flourishing like they always do. No one in the area has started spreading fertilizers yet, but that was my first thought .. polluted water.
Any thoughts?

Poisoning? Do you have any mosquito sprayers or other chemicals that could have come in contact with the fish? _________________ Suffering from intense study syndrome.. Have to keep plugging away at my masters.... |

Nope. none yet. No spraying and no run off from any adjacent fields. The fish are all healthy other than their colors. I'm heading back there tonight and I'm bringing home a water sample to test myself and have the locals test it too.
