getting a new 55 gal. will have good filtration, good lighting, and be moderately planted. flourite substrate. here's what'll be in it:

6 hatchets(top)
10 neons(middle)
4 leopard corys(bottom)
2-3 otos
a few small shrimp

I also would like to get a pair of rams. I would like to try to breed them. my tank will be 48x13x20 in. I know that they'll stake out territory. will they harass the corys and otos if they go to clean the substrate. how big (approx.) of an area will they claim. will the neons freak them out (huge red and blue ball). is my tank full...or would there be enough room for 6-7 pristella tetras as well. thanks for your thoughts!

You have plenty of space for the pristellas and your rams will be fine too.

I would up the number of cories to 6 as well.
