I have a stupid question about how to read tests. Right now I use all aquarium pharmaceutical tests.
My question is, lets say, when I test for Nitrates, I follow instructions and after waiting check it against the color chart. If I hold the vial right against the paper it will be closer in color to 20ppm but if I hold it about 1/4" from the paper with light behind it will be closer to 10ppm. Which is correct?
I usually go by holding it 1/4" away from the chart paper.
Newbie question but want to get it right!
Thanks |

Try looking at the test tube from the top facing downwards to the test chart.
