I definatly prefer the natural look and this tank is a great example of how awsome looking a small tank can be with a good natural layout.

I think they are quite attractive in the way you have possitioned them, though your java moss could use a trim.

THat is a beautiful 10 gal. Great job if this is your first try.
May I ask what that small plant in the fore ground is? The one with the round leaves in the second pic you posted.
One thing that could make it look better is to plant the left back corner a little more densely with more of the tall stem plant that you have there.
Nice job. _________________ 29

Thank you again for suggestions and comments.
I will post some updates in a couple of months. Can not promise change in driftwood, but who knows.
supaoopa,
Small forefront plant is Hydrocotyle verticillata.
ram man,
I am beginner myself so can not really tell you anything that you did not read or heard before. Only thing that I think is seldom mentioned, but can help aquascaper is drawing plans of layout and actually doing it in full size. Even if you are a terrible in drawing, as I am, you still can put a piece of driftwood on top of the paper and outline bottom areas that you plan to plant. Sketch you potential front view. And so on. I think when you actually trying to recreate your plan on paper it gives you much more visual feedback and can show what will or will not work.
Neon,
I was just too busy with work and translation of Tom Barr's "Estimative Index" article. It will be available in Russian soon. Probably by the end of this week.
Regards.
Vladimir. |
