Maybe she's just hiding, so don't do anything for a couple of days. If she and the male mated, she will hide for 2-3 days, even forget food. After about a week and she still hasn't come out, start looking for a skeleton. Also, look aroud the fish tank incase she jumped out. Sorry.

Hi Great White,

Thanks for your reply thought you'd like to know, I did my weekly waterchange this morning and whilst syphoning the gravel, she floated to the top. She must have got stuck in the decor when the male chased her. My LFS said that my Otto's would have eaten her, but apart from her tail she was in one piece. Again I think they make things up as they go along.

I think you should actually go get another female, just choose carefully this time. The more rainbows you have, the happier they are. It is normal for a new fish to get chased for a while, but it goes away after a week or so. Just my opinion. Try to tell me your decision later.
