You sound like me, I need to redo my tank, been getting in the plants, going to do a different substrate. Catching all those little buggers is going to be a pain in the ($&*#)(*#) _________________ The critter ladie

I harbor a personal disgust for testing, especially the Aqua Pharm nitrate kit.
Step 1 add ten drops of solution A
Step 2 shake bottle of solution b vigorously for 30 seconds....argh _________________ Best,

I have had a killer loose in my tank and I have had to have three fishie funerals in two weeks...I did not like that... The killer has gone to prison ie a friends tank. If he behaves well he can stay there. He is a chinese algae eater who decided he prefered fish. |

| I agree with you guys. Fish that cause problems and need to be netted for some reason are a real pain esp. when they are smart fish in a well planted tank. |

Waiting... ie Fry.
Convicts, too many, so I put the parents with my Uro, and a flock of Striped Raphaels,, and my brother rescues them Not so much waiting though.
I can sell my julies, but they don't grow all that quick, and are filling my 20 long.
And lastly, my cories, lay eggs already! A few are looking fat, so it should only be a matter of time, but I am impatient. |

Netting! I have to agree.
Today I had to net my two rams, and ended up taking everything out of the tank (plants, rocks, etc...) before I could get them. The worst part was, my little brother was over, and kept laughing while I got soaked. Stupid fast fish. Stupid kid brother.

having sick fish or fish that end up dieing. I hate it when my fish get sick. I am right now worried about my clownfish. I got him eating again but he still has some discolouration.

Gotta hate changing that water Changing water and cleaning the gravel takes me a good hour so I don't suck up the plants. _________________

Ahhh. Does it use the powder too? My Tetra Test kit goes something like this (I'm going from memory and could be slightly wrong):
14 drops of solution 1
shake
7 drops of solution 2
shake
1 spoonful of grey powder
shake for 20 seconds
7 drops of solution 3
shake
wait X number of minutes (20 minutes maybe)
... remember to go back and check the color.
Then when you're done, specks of the grey powder remain in the test tube after rinsing. They're next to impossible to clean out and if they remain, they'll affect your next test.
I hate testing for nitrate! |
