Today in the LFS I saw pre-used tanks for 8.99. 15 gallon ones at that. It looked like the store owner was selling his old ones because he had replaced them or something. I would like to get one, but the problem is, they were soooo dirty. Like they had never been washed before.

Is it possible for glass stains from aquarium usage to be permanent, and if not, what is the best solution to clean it with. I'd like to return to get one, and use it to house my bearded dragon, then use his former 10 gal tank to house my toad, which means it must be as clean as a tank intended for a fish for 3-4 inches of water.

You can clean the hard spots off with vinegar, salt, CLR, or a new razor. But, the haze that may be left may be permanent. I find that the haze is not really visible when th tank is full.... but you will certainly notice it with 3" of water in the tank.

New tanks are not that expensive in small sizes.
