I bought a 10g live plant package about a month ago.when I got it everything seemed fine,but now on my corkscrew vals there is a rust like substance that is killing my plants.it is only growing on a few on the leaves.it rubs off very easly,but it comes right back.please help me!

it appears to be some sort of algae,do you currently have an algae eater of some sort?

maybe you could try a small pleco, or maybe a few otos

my betta LOVES eating those things...... it's pretty cool to see him swim up and suck one out of its shell. Very Happy

Be aware that the CAE gets up to a foot long, and long before then, ceases its algae-eating in favor of the protein in fish slimecoats. CAEs usually peak their aggression long before their full size as well.

I suggest taking the CAE back, and looking into otos or amano shrimp.
