Hello I have had aquariums for about 20 years ,lots of sifferent fish except salatwater, but I have never tried growing live plants. I am going to order a new caopy tomarrow for my tank (fLorescent) and would like to try some live plants but I have silver dollares and goldfish that are about 6-7m inches long along with some smaller fish is there any plants that would grow in this enviroment? I know that silver dollare and the goldfish tend to wreck havok on plants but I would like to try any suggestions also my water is faily soft.

How big is your tank? How powerful is the light going to be? Depending on how much light you have
Java Ferns
Ancharis
are good, easy plants to have.

My tank is a 55 gallon aquarium and I'm not sure how strong the florescent lighting is just standard I guess.
