Hey everyone,

I have recently just set up my dwarf puffer tank and it is now doing a fishless cycle, but I just need answers to 2 questions:

1) are dwarf puffers hardy? will they survive the back end of a cycle where the nitrites are returning to normal?

2) do snails need to be fed to them all the time or just weekly?

Will anyone who has experience with these fish please try and answer my questions,

Thanks again

let it fully cycle, puffs arent known for being hardy at all. I wouldnt risk it.

From what I understand about dwarves, they don't require daily snails, but the more snails they get, the better. Weekly may be enough, but if you have extras, or start breeding snails, it couldnt hurt to feed more often.

Thanks Psyfalcon,

I am going to let it cycle now, then in a few weeks maybe strt adding fish. I am thinking about putting otos in first, would this be fine?

Thanks again

btw, it is a 5g elite waterhome 5. How does 2 puffers and 2 otos sounds for this set up? or could I get away with 3 puffers?
