| I just caught a case of ich early and I've started all the proper measures but I was just wondering if all fish can take salt, like guppies and plecos. . thanks |

salt is just fine for things like guppies and plecos. The only thing I can think of right off the bat that doesn't take salt are cories. I suggest that you put in a couiple tablespoons (slowly). Read the directions on the side of the salt container. Make sure you get salt for FRESHWATER fish. Any other will kill your fish! The directions will tell you how much salt to put in. Keep in mind that some ick meds don't do such a great job, so you really should assist that with salt and raising the temperature. Good luck! Your aquarium sounds beautiful! a few tetras also don't like salt, - I have had bad experience with f.inst. rednoses and salt, - so thats good to be aware of too. SA soft water tetraes are not used to much or any salt in the water, and may react to it... although most can tolerate it, I am sure, but a few sensitive types may not ... _________________ <')))))))>< helene s. |
