I saw an add for a Tetra product called Easy Balance. It claims to eliminate water changes by adding once a week, you only have to change the water once every 6 months!?! Is this possible? I was wondering if anyone had experience with this.

I doubt it and I wouldn't use a chemical to get out of work. It may change something in the water to make the test not test right but I doubt they have a compound that can eliminate nitrates and even if they did the chem coudl have adverse effects on your aquatic life. It is like those chems claiming to change pH they just don't work. They test like they do but they don't. If you want to you can and maybe someone has positive first hand experience with using it but I personally would stay clear of it Wink .

I wasn't planning on using it, I was just wondering what other peoples thoughts were and if anyone has had success with it.

Personally, I would stay clear of any of those products that claim you can skip water changes, etc. They're all a bunch of snake oil products IMO.

Besides, why use money on those products when you can just do simple water changes weekly/biweekly? You could use the money you saved for purchasing a new aquarium or other new toys though Very Happy
