my platy is becoming deformed???

this is weird. over the past week, my platy has been growing lumps all over him. is he getting sick??? I need to know if he needs to be taken out of his community tank. please post your opinions

What do you mean "lumps"? Tumors?? Sores??? Are they bloody or fungus-infected?? Is the platy still eating? What size tank is it in??

If you give us some more info we'll be able to help you better.

well one of his lumps has a bit of what looks like fugus on it. also, it appears as if he has red blotches on some lumps. he still eats.

he is currently living in a 10g with 3 guppies, 2 corys, and 1 other platy.

What are the water parameters I.E. pH, NitrATE and NitrITE etc...

That sound pretty nasty, and I think that you should try treating for a bacterial infection. "gel-tec" works like a charm! just remember to remove the carbon filter, or whatever filter medium you use and don't leave in any invertabrates (crabs, snails, etc.) in your tank while treating. If this fail, try treating for paracites along with salt-dips. Good luck!
