Hi guys,

I'm wondering if any of you can help me, yesterday I went check on my oscar and there was blood red poop lying at the bottom of the tank, he doesn't look sick, I'm wondering if he has some sort of internal infection, or maybe ruptured something inside, or maybe this is normal, I don't no.

Thanks in advance

Jynxy

What has he eaten recently? I find with my fish that heir poop tends to reflect what they have eaten they usually have red poop after I have fed them bloodworms.

Or if you have fed bloodworms some went unnoticed and fell to the bottom.

I hadnt fed him bloodworms in a week, all hes eaten is flake..and I doubt its blood worms, it you've seen an oscars poop before, its not the same stragely poop than what you would get from any other fish, its big, thick and yukky looking, lol. I havent seen anymore since this, but ill keep an eye on him, do you think it would be wise to use some melafix on him? just incase?

my oscars poo is always red because of the food I feed him(hikari gold) and since its red his poo is rred. I noticed when he eats peas or feeder fish(guppies and zebra danios) his poo is a pale brown sort of like those tan army men lol Laughing
