We have just purchased our first chocolate chip starfish. We have received very different information regarding food and compatability with coral. Please advise correct answers.

They are not reef safe they will go after soft and stoney corals, and any types of clams you may have in the tank

they do feed on alge and plankton but will accept brine shrimp, chunks of clam, shrimp squid. They will do well in a fish only tank but not in one with corals and clams.
