what diet do you recommend for a yellow tang I am introducing to my 75g tank? I know its an herbivore, but will it still eat brine shrimp and flakes? what types of vegetables should/can I feed it?

They will eat algae, lettuce, flakes, etc.

Just make sure to let him sit in your QT tank for at least 3 weeks, as tangs, espceially the yellow ones are very prone to ich.

DanG is correct about QT. Focus on green foods like Nori algae, you'll find plenty of green based options at your LFS so you can avoid terrestrial greens completely.

What it WILL eat may not be best for it. Yes, they'll eat shrimp, but a diet high in vegetable matter is really necessary to maintain health. I would suggest Nori as well. But a varied diet is also important. Emerald Entree from SFBB and Formula Two from Ocean Nutrition are frozen foods I use all of the time. For flake food, I'd try to stick with something like Formula Two.
