I'm just curious to know of what some of you all use to take shots, as I have seen some gorgeous pictures...
I'm on a bit of a budget and www.newegg.com seems to have some great prices...
I'm considering buying the "Canon PowerShot A85 Silver 4.0MP Digital Camera 1/2.7" CCD 1.8", 118K LCD 3X Optical Zoom 3.6X Digital Zoom" ...
I need something that's functional, but that is going to get some good, quality shots of my fish...
thanks!
Note to moderators: I hope this is the proper forum, if not, feel free to move me around... _________________ 20g planted - 1.5 wpg - pea gravel/sand/laterite - DIY co2 |

Well I use the A75 and have always found it user-friendly and good for fishy and normal photos. It's 2 models down on the A85. |

I saw you got some great pics of your rainbows... by down do you mean that the A85 would potentially produce higher quality pics? barring user incompetence... _________________ 20g planted - 1.5 wpg - pea gravel/sand/laterite - DIY co2 |

Yup the A85 is a much better camera - IMHO a good buy. |

No probs - can't wait to see the pics. Practice makes perfect with the piccies - I tend to mess around with the settings as all of my tanks need different settings - eg the 150L has a lot of tannins in the water and it's harder to get decent pics, whereas the Mbuna are well-lit with white sand and pics are easier. Use as high an ISO as poss (400) and the Tv mode - experiment with exposure times. Anything more techy than that, ask the Kapenta Kid or Verse 914 - both EXCELLENT photographers. |
