What's a comfortable amount of plants to place into a 2.5 gal to be inhabited by a single creature. It's going to be half dry half water, but I haven't been turning up many plant names. Just that it should be heavily planted. Are there any great articles for beginners here about how to start off a fishless tank.

I am going for a newt. the problem I have with plants is my local fish shop has garbage where plants are concerned. I mean they very much look like they're half dead floating in the tank. They're spotted with brown. It's pointless to buy them at that condition, isnt it?

I've seen plant bulbs in walmart, but have no idea if that even works, or if it provides suitable plants.
