hmmm suzy, I'm leaning towards the ghostknife as the culprit.

Would be good to see your idea, there is a DIY (do it yourself) forum where you could post it for others and myself to see Smile

You will need to watch the fish at night to see if the fighting is happening at night. The fish I will watch are the black ghost as this fish has killed my large fish (aprox 10-12cm) at night. I will also look at the rainbow shark and the catfiish could attack at night. To find more information about the catfish behavour check at website planetcatfish.

I would imagine it was the ghost knife. I had one that would eat the eyes out of the angels and then kill them. Mine didn't bother the other fish though. He was 13 in. I ended up giving him to the tulsa zoo.

hey suzie you sued to have a simula problem except that it was only discus and neons that were attacked and vanished.

as it turned out my 14" black ghost had a thing for discus and both my ghosts and larger angels luved the neons.

best thing I did was buy a heap of fancy guppy (lots of females n few males)

that way if your not sure your feeding the gjosts properly there usually the ones to go 1st due to there size and they breed rapidly.

also on a side note ghosts like to suck the eyes out of there prey its there fav part so if you hav found eyeless fish then the ghost is more then likely the culpret.

sorry bout the long post but as you can guess I wasnt happy to find out that I wasnt feeding the to larg ghosts enough as the larger 1 would pig out and leave little for the smaller 1. cost me a fortune in discus to find that out.
good luck

ps iv had no probs for a few yrs now and I havnt had many guppys dissaper I also replaced the discus with vieltale angels.

Mine was being fed enough, he just didn't like the angels. The only thing he would do was take the eyes of those, left the baby molly's and guppys alone.

I gave my ghost to the zoo, seen him the other day. Looks very happy. He's in a 125 g with a few smaller fish for food. Won't eat them though, likes the frozen stuff.
