I just tested my water two days after doing a 35%-40% water change in my 29 gallon tank and the nitrate levels are suddenly at 80 ppm+. Will daily 10% water changes for a few days take care of it, or is there a product I can use. All other water parameters are normal.

Thanks!

Ouch-

One thing that may be contributing- Do you do a gravel vac before you waterchange? If not, it is possible that you are stirring nitrate laden detrius from the bottom of your tank, causing the spike.

Also, it might be worth testing your water supply for nitrates.

Also, I would do a large waterchange instead of a bucnh of little ones to alleviate the problem faster.

Robs,

As a quick precaution, test your tap water for Nitrates.
