|
|
I want to build a canister filter for one of my tanks, to save some much needed space. The tank is a 20 gallon with a single red bellied piranha. I have most of my specifics laid out but I still need to know some crucial things. I have modeled most of my setup off of this one:

First off, what kind of filter material(s) should I use inside the canister?
And second, what size of pump should I employ (speaking in gallons per hour) for this to work properly?
I am open to any suggestions for methods of construction, brand names to use, or anything else anyone can think of!
Thanks a bunch!! |

For filter material I use generic "polyfill" / quilt batting. You can get it @ any craft shop and/or probably Walmart. _________________ "... instead of considering what to say when they write, people now just let thoughts drool out onto the screen," - about e-mail

do you think I could do that idea, but put the intake at the bottom and the output at the top? gravity would pull the water down and pressure would feed it back to the tank. is this feasible? will it work the way I plan? any ideas appreciated _________________ If you want to see my website go to www.freewebs.com/potatochipswillownyouall/
