I have a block of clay and I wanted to know if anyone has ever put clay in the aquarium. Is it safe for fish? I can glaze it, or not, depending if glaze isnt safe. It will be heated/cured tho. I could easily make up some caves. Custom tank decor! Thanks

hey, do you know what the ingredients of the clay are, because if there arent any chemicals or warnings about that, and you've baked the clay it might be posseble.
It sounds like a great idea, but I wouldent try it unless I was absolutely sure it is safe

I use AquaClay Ground Substrate (http://www.aquaclay.de/engl/index.htm) in my 600L tank - About 100litres of AquaClay.

No problems with the clay. No pH raise or lowering. Fishes are happy. Plants are taking a "death grip" on the very pourous clay substrates too Smile
