All

In the process of maturing a 39 gallon, (UK), tank. It will be a fish only system. The tank dimensions are 55x45x70cm. It will be matured for at least six weeks and I have an external canister filter, UV sterilser, protein skimmer and one power head.

Any thoughts as to what fish to include evententually, was thinking of a pair of common clowns, (tank bred), a goby, couple of green chromis and I would like a flame angel.

Any thoughts.

Thanks

Remove the protien skimmer duuring break in period; it can interfere with the cycling process. You can add it about 6 weeks after set up.

Thanks for the advice Floridaboy.

What is you opinion regarding the Flame Angel ? I understand that they have a fairly high mortality rate when introduced into the tank, would I be better of with a coral beauty ?

Your opinions are appreciated...

Loricula are, and have been for years, one of the better angels.
They have successfully spawned and been bred in captivity and hold promise for a viable captive reared future. That said, for wild caught fishes, be advised there are always good supply chains and bad ones for ANY species; see if you can get one caught in the Christmas or Marshall islands. I trust you are setting up a quarantine system now and planning on using it for all new arrivals. Lots of hiding places, quality algae based foods, coupled with green micro/LR algae in the tank and good skimming should bring you years of Flame success. Here's more:
