How big does the common "feeder" goldfish get? Also how long does it take them to reach full size?
Thanks _________________ - Sometimes I don't know enough to know that I don't know - |

comets get to be about 10-14" depending. There are many different types of feeders in those feeder tanks so sometimes it's hard to tell. _________________ "Feminae bene moratea historiam raro faciunt" |

| Depends on what you call full size. They are decent size and quite large by less than a year(6-7 inches) if not faster-at least in my pond. |

Rosey Reds aren't goldfish, they're a color variety of Fathead Minnows.
Common goldfish (not me, not my fish):

That's not really an exception. Goldfish are BIG fish and need to be treated like it! Ultimately the best home for a goldfish is a pond, not a tank. _________________ -Molly

| No Kidding little mousling!!! That thing is enormous! I don't take it that's a comet? I was looking at some comets a couple days ago, they looked slimmer bodied than that. I was thinking I'll get a few once my pond is planted. But I wouldn't want THOSE in there! I have a cat... and I'm afraid a fish that big would eat it! |

It's a common (shorter fins) but yup, it's pretty stout. Like humans, sooner or later length growth starts fading out in favor of, ahem, width growth. _________________ -Molly
