Here are some pics some my 3wk old Red Empress Namalenje Island fry. I shot these at 300mm with my 70-300mm lense and 6T closeup lense, F15, 1/250s, ISO 200, with a wireless flash overhead. These guys are very tiny at less that 10mm in size. I was amazed at how well these pics turned out with the fry being so small.

And here is a pic of the female with fry...

And a pic of the male (I've posted this pic before)

Awesome pics as usual, especially of such tiny subjects. Ever noticed that like puppies grow in to their feet, it would seem fish grow into their eyes?

I can see the caption for the magic moment "I swear I am not going to swallow"

I saw an interesting show a while back about this catfish that lays its eggs where mouth brooding cichlids do. so the baby catfish get mouth brooded and by the time the catfish are big enough to leave they serigate mom all the moms real children have been eaten!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I came home yesterday from work to see my other red empress female holding. The male is having a great time Smile

That was the National Geographic Jewel of the Rift episode. It was really cool too. Theyre supposed to be playing it again on the National Geographic channel soon (I think).
